The Reign of Death will End! (1 Corinthians 15:20-26)

Pastor Aaron Ude, November 19, 2017
Part of the Sunday Sermons series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Man can see the reign of death over this world. It has been more clear than usual lately in the hurricanes this summer and the deadly shootings in Las Vegas and Sutherland Springs. Man can see this but what they can't see with their eyes is Jesus nor what Jesus is doing and so they doubt and cry out "why" in their heartbreak and anger. But Jesus is not idle and He does reign over death. He shows us in in our text to the comfort of our souls that why Jesus has not ended death is not because He is idle or apathetic but because of grace. 1 Corinthians 15:20-26

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
