God serves you! (Matthew 20:25-28)

Pastor Aaron Ude, August 14, 2016
Part of the Sunday Sermons series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Why is this called a worship service? Are you serving God or is God serving you? Why do you come to church, to serve God or to be served by God? God is indeed worthy, as Hebrews 13 points out, of the praise of our lips, but I hope that isn’t the main reason you came here today to serve God. What is the reason that Christ came to this earth? He came not to be served but to serve as our text points out. Serve who? Serve us and that is also what our worship service is about. God serving us. Matthew 20:25-28

25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
